Job Description
Insight Global is assisting a large fast-food client in the Athens, GA area in identifying a General Ledger Bookkeeper to join their existing team for a 3-6 month need, in a hybrid role. This person will have mid-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and would know how to use V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, and manipulating formulas. This person will be responsible for maintaining and recording business transactions, balancing ledgers, and preparing financial reports and supporting schedules for all of the client's locations.
Day-to-Day:
* Participate in and contribute to various GL projects (i.e., new system implementation,
streamlining the month end close process, etc.)
* Maintain and edit management accounting task instructions and update as necessary
* Store opening procedures such as obtaining business franchises, creating new merchant IDs with
credit card processors, opening store bank accounts, completing credit applications for vendors,
and obtaining health permits, etc.
* Ordering all banking supplies for each ZAX, LLC store
* Completion of annual renewal of business franchise and health permits
* Effectively and efficiently manage the monthly GL close process
* Complete and review account reconciliations
* Complete both property and sales tax returns as well as ensure timely payment
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation and complete auditor requests as
necessary
* Communicate with supervisor, co-workers, vendors, customers, and others in a courteous and
professional manner
Required Skills & Experience
* 3 years' of Accounting Experience
* Experience in General Ledger Accounting
* Experience with Bank Reconciliation
* Proficiency in Excel
* Ability to work with little to modest supervision; to multi-task and manage time
* Intermediate knowledge in accounting principles, standard concepts, practices, procedures & systems within the accounting field; begin to apply knowledge, problem solving, streamlining processes, and enhancing work products with little guidance
* Expertise on specific areas of responsibility but also general knowledge of other areas of accounting; able to comprehend how each area flows and relies to other areas and products
* Work performed with few errors; finds errors in self-review and corrects
* Operate a computer work station and MS Office programs

* Experience in Lawson Accounting Software
