A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on 4 GIS Technician. These individuals will be joining the special/major projects team. This is a technical support position, working with Designers, Engineers, and Senior Engineers. This position will support the maintenance and operation of client's mapping and GIS applications by maintaining, reporting, and posting work or by gathering data to be inputted by others.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for creating and editing project drawings
* Analyze client requests/engineering sketches and work with diagram, layouts, and various drawings
* Scale engineering drawings using a computer aided drafting system
* Create detailed drawings/maps and related specifications of civil/electrical equipment
* File drawings, maintain catalogs of engineering data and perform other procedures as required
Project example: Georgia Power's Grid Investment Program: converting electrical distribution circuits from overhead to underground.
* Associates or Bachelors in Geography, Engineering, Resource Mapping, Computer Science or related field
* GIS internship or 1-2 years of corporate level GIS experience
* Familiar with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil3D)
