Job Description

Our Atlanta office focuses on environmental consulting and engineering services, including site investigation and clean-up, emergency preparedness and response, regulatory compliance, and other sustainability and resiliency services. For over 25 years, our team of scientists, engineers, GIS analysts, and other specialists have supported the U.S. EPA's Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team program in several regions across the country.



We are seeking a senior scientist or engineer with experience in conducting and coordinating environmental emergency responses. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience on EPA projects, preferably with local, state, or Federal emergency response experience and in-depth knowledge of National Incident Management System (NIMS) and incident command system (ICS). The position will involve extensive communications with client contacts and co-workers to staff and coordinate emergency response and other projects that support ongoing and future U.S. EPA contracts.

Your Responsibilities:

* Planning and oversight of multiple concurrent projects in Environmental/Emergency Response Operations

* Train and direct response personnel: Coordinate personnel, equipment, supplies, and scope of services to provide solutions to meet the clients' needs

* Provide technical assistance in the areas of preparedness, removal actions, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, and air monitoring/quality

* Ability to plan for field events that include multimedia sampling and field data collection, interpret results, and prepare or direct the preparation of reports and other deliverables, including work products developed using geographic information system (GIS) technologies

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in an environmental science, engineering or similar discipline

* Minimum of 0-5 years readiness coordination experience and emergency response operations

* Has worked for a previous environmental consulting company

* Experience using field equipment and conducting sampling and data collection

* Knowledge of federal and state regulations, including CERCLA, OPA, Stafford Act

* 40 Hours HAZWOPER

* Training in incident command system (ICS)

* Willingness to work irregular hours and travel

* Reporting skills to document incident reports
