LexisNexis linking team is responsible for linking billions of public and proprietary records to create a unique entity identifier for consumers organizations and health care providers. We're looking for an experienced smart driven individual who will help analyze our data we utilize in our linking solutions by using quantitative approaches with a unique blend of analytical mathematical and technical skills.

Accountabilities
  • Work in iterative processes to perform advanced data analysis validate findings or test hypotheses and communicate results and methodology
  • Provide recommendations on who to utilize our data to optimize our search increase recall and/or precision of results and help us to better understand or existing data.
  • Communicate technical information successfully with technical and non-technical audiences such as third party vendors external customer technical departments various levels of management and other relevant parties
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members as well as attend regular team meetings

    Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science mathematics statistics or equivalent technical discipline
  • 4 years of experience working with big data analytics and numerous large data sets/data warehouses
  • Ability to assemble analyze and evaluate big data and be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations to stakeholders
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills good understanding of different data structures algorithms and their usage in solving business problems
  • Strong communication verbal and written and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management customers etc.
  • Strong skills in setting communicating implementing and achieving business objectives and goals
  • Strong organization/project planning time management and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity

    1. To get started can you give me a quick overview of your team and what you do? LexisNexis linking team is responsible for linking billions of public and proprietary records to create a unique entity identifier for consumers organizations addresses and providers. We also provide interfaces that use customer provided data to search this data to return unique entity identifiers within our products.

    2. The person who will be successful in this role will be somebody who? Curious. Not afraid to speak up ask questions and provide solutions for data challenges we are facing. Ability to quickly learn new programming language.

    3. What would you say are the TOP 3 must-have skills youre looking for? Measurable skills technologies etc.
    a. Experience With Search algorithms and/or preparing data for Search applications
    b. Creating Power BI Reports and/or Other Visualizations
    c. Experience with Data Mining

    4. How many years of experience are you looking for? 4-6 years

    5. As you start to go through resumes what would stand out to you as the BEST candidate versus an AVERAGE candidate? What separates best from average is the ability to communicate understanding of relevant projects they have worked on in past in brief summary as opposed to simply listing all relevant projects with no context

    6. Does your team work standard core hours or does that vary? Standard core hours

    7. Do you need someone with a particular degree or certification? Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related degree

    8. What are some of the performance indicators youll be looking for once this person ramps up? Meeting deadlines quality of work etc. Solutions based on data analysis that will help improve performance faster queries reduce costs less data storage faster compute times less memory improve recall or precision of searches.
