Job Description

This role is not a creative one. It is 70% management & project execution with about 30% creative work (mood boards, material evaluations, illustrations)!



Day to Day:

* Manage suppliers to facilitate material procurement for product development Curate swatch selections from suppliers and coordinate internal review to drive improved submissions.

* Work with internal prototype development and submit build requests for full scale design reviews.

* Participate cross-functional product development efforts to finalize aesthetic designs, both internally and externally.

* Collaborate to develop designs that follow lean principles and incorporate DTV and DTM processes.

* Collaborate on fabric and component selections to fully vet design issues across Supply Chain, Product Development, and Operations. Quilt reviews, engineering pilots, and construction optimization.

* Manage zippered-cover design options and coordinate with suppliers, Marketing, and NPD across various development objectives.

* Protect all intellectual property and secure exclusivity of all ideation where possible.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have:

* 5-10 years professional experience working in new product development / consumer durable goods, including comparable internship experience

* Strong eye for design and aesthetics. Ability to drive creative thinking.

* Technical knowledge of textile/performance fabric construction and production methods strongly preferred.

* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite , Solidworks, Keyshot, or comparable software preferred but not required.

* Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Willingness to speak up.

* Demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making ability.

* Strong ability to drive process. Assertive, decisive and confident decision maker.

* Ability to manage multiple project tasks and project timeline

* Ability to navigate complex manufacturing and development processes

Plusses:

* Degree or direct exp in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or Textile Design preferred.
