Job Description
The Market Data Solutions team supports strategic initiatives and firm-wide objectives through the global management of market data for the purpose of delivering high quality content, products and services while optimizing the total cost of ownership. The Senior Analyst plays a key role in the team's objectives to align the firm's market and reference data requirements with providers and services that advance Franklin Templeton's performance, operational and risk objectives. The role is dynamic, fast paced and interacts with multiple stakeholders. The Senior Analyst will combine their knowledge vendor services, critical thinking, and business acumen to foster alignment between Franklin Templeton's business needs and vendor products, services, and activities. They manage end to end process with market data vendors, onboarding new vendors, negotiating new contracts, working with data, work with operations team that come to them with questions if something doesn't look right.
* Establish strong relationships with Franklin Templeton's Business Units to develop a vendor data and service strategy to meet their business requirements
* Provide consultative support and promote the effective use of data and services
* Lead vendor selection process and the ongoing management of vendor partnerships, building consensus and drive value-added solutions
* Maintain knowledge of new and existing vendor products, emerging trends, and an understanding how vendor's products are used across the firm
* Contract negotiations with vendors providing intellectual property and market-based services
* Manage vendor strategy meetings and effectively communicate vendor updates
* Identify new data partnerships based on existing or anticipated needs
Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree
* 5+ years (Sr.), 10+ years (Principal) experience related to market and reference data vendors and services, industry trends and contract negotiation
* Broad knowledge of market data content including across asset types (Equity, Fixed Income, derivatives, etc.) and content types (real time pricing, news, fundamental and reference data, terminal products, etc.)
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
* Contract negotiation experience -- has led a negotiation with a vendor - notice provisions, redistribution of provisions
* Negotiation experience - smaller agreements $100-200,000
* Experience working on the procurement team
* Familiar with vendors, index providers, workstations, Bloomberg, SNP
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 365
