Position Summary
Client is seeking a hands-on quality leader to serve as Manager of QA Automation. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Quality Assurance, this role owns the day-to-day execution of quality assurance and test automation for the Video and In-Home Wi-Fi CPE product lines, safeguarding the performance, reliability, and user experience of the devices in our subscriber's home.
The Manager leads the onshore Video and Wi-Fi QA testers while unlocking automation opportunities with an offshore automation team. This role will also be leading the lab technician who operates Hotwire's physical QA Test lab while partnering with the AI Quality Engineering function to bring Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities into everyday testing practice. The ideal candidate pairs hands-on automation expertise in video streaming and Wi-Fi CPE with the people-leadership skills to direct distributed teams toward measurable quality outcomes.
PR: $57/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years in software quality assurance with a concentration in test automation, including at least 2 years leading QA engineers, technicians, or outsourced teams.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks for embedded device, firmware, or network-connected hardware using Python, Java, JavaScript, Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework, pytest, or comparable tooling.
• Demonstrated success managing offshore or distributed teams across time zones, including vendor partner coordination.
• Experience operating or managing a physical test lab or hardware test bed environment, including device inventory, test bed configuration, and lab uptime for automated execution.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, and the integration of automated testing into consumer device release workflows.
• Practical understanding of how Generative AI and AI-augmented testing tools, such as PostBot AI, Functionize, mabl, or Tricentis Copilot, apply to test creation, automation, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts and the practical considerations of deploying AI agents in production QA workflows.
• Proven ability to partner across Engineering, Product, and Operations to deliver measurable quality outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to report status, metrics, and risk clearly to senior leadership.
