Job Description

The Senior Estimator is responsible for leading the development of complex, high-value construction estimates and bid proposals from concept through award. This individual serves as a key leader within the preconstruction team, overseeing estimating activities, mentoring junior estimators, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and supporting business development efforts through client interaction and proposal negotiations.

The Senior Estimator plays a critical role in ensuring accurate project pricing, successful bid submissions, and a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations. Following project award, this position continues to support project teams through change order pricing, cost analysis, and ongoing estimating assistance.

Required Skills & Experience

Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates and large-scale bid proposals.
Manage and mentor Estimators throughout the estimating and proposal development process.
Review and perform quantity takeoffs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
Develop detailed project budgets, estimates, bid packages, and client proposals.
Participate in client meetings, bid reviews, and post-bid negotiations to help secure project awards.
Support the transition of awarded projects from preconstruction to operations teams.
Provide pricing and cost analysis for change orders and scope modifications during construction.
Analyze project risks, assumptions, and opportunities throughout the estimating process.
Ensure adherence to company safety standards and industry best practices.
Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and certification programs.
