Job Description

The Commercial Lines Account Manager demonstrates the technical ability and
knowledge to manage and retain a book of commercial accounts and provides
service support to Producers for daily client service needs. The Account Manager is
expected to perform and prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities.
The Commercial Lines Account Manager works closely in conjunction with the
Producer in developing strategy for retention of renewals and new business
acquisition. This position regularly exercises discretion and independent judgement
on accounts including product and pricing determinations, affecting, interpreting
and implementing various company policies. The Account Manager interacts and
provides professional support to clients and team members. The Account Manager
initiates renewal process including requesting renewal information from existing
clients, assisting the Producer in obtaining pertinent information to prepare
submissions for quoting new business, preparing submission to proposing and
binding coverages as needed. This position also performs all other duties required to
establish, service, and maintain accounts
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Gathers data from client – application, exhibits, narratives, supplemental information,
and loss runs
• Works independently and consult Producers, as needed, to develop marketing
strategy and submit to market
• Prepares new/renewal proposals
• Initiates, Follows Up and Manages Renewal Process, per Company’s Renewal
Procedures
• Prepare Certificate Templates and process Evidence of Insurance for all lines written
through the Company
• Attends marketing and carrier meetings, as needed
• Coordinates client meetings for Producers
• Monitors and updates open items checklists/timelines
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients/carriers through the daily
service of endorsements and general coverage questions
• Reviews contracts, recommends carrier transfer, and checks for compliance
• Identifies new exposures and develops cross sell opportunities
• Communicates with Producer and team regarding client
• Analyzes client data to determine client needs
• Answers underwriting questions and help negotiate pricing and products
• Primary contact with client, besides Producer
• Uses independent judgement to conceptualize solutions for client needs, and may
consult Producer as needed
• Maintenance of Applied (EPIC) Management System and Document
Management System
• Maintain professional attitude, stability and tolerance in multi-task, time-
critical environment.
• Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients
including professionally written, concise and clear email communications
• Demonstrate ability to be approachable by all internal colleagues and mentor
Customer Service Representatives by sharing ideas on processing and helping
to develop or improve workflows
• Ability to handle multiple priorities including unexpected client requests, while
maintaining daily responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

- Current Florida 2-20 insurance license
- High school graduate or diploma equivalent
- Minimum of two years industry experience
- Proficient in insurance agency management software (EPIC preferably)
- Understand the types of risks businesses face and know what insurance products are used to protect them.
- Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Pro
- Attention to detail
- Strongest with property and casualty insurance
- Should have some workers comp insurance (can be trained on this)
- Fully manages their own book - Managing all aspects of commercial insurance account servicing, including preparing renewal proposals and market submissions, coordinating with clients and carriers, supporting underwriting and claims processes, issuing certificates, reviewing audits, handling invoicing and policy transactions, and leveraging property appraiser resources to gather and verify underwriting information.
- Experience with larger vehicle schedules
