Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Director of Physician Relations to lead and manage a high-performing physician relations sales team within a large healthcare system. This individual will be responsible for driving strategic growth by promoting physicians and services to referring providers across the market. The Director will oversee Physician Relations Managers (PRMs), providing leadership, coaching, and ongoing development while ensuring alignment with organizational growth initiatives. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to design and execute sales strategies, monitor ROI, and communicate market trends and opportunities.
Key responsibilities include developing and overseeing account management strategies, analyzing referral and claims data to prioritize growth opportunities, and ensuring the successful execution of targeted outreach campaigns. The Director will also serve as a subject matter expert on assigned service lines, maintaining knowledge of clinical programs and ensuring consistent messaging to referring providers.
This position plays a critical role in strengthening physician relationships, resolving access or operational barriers, and improving referral patterns. The Director will also collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, community relations, and public relations teams to enhance physician visibility in the market.
Additionally, this role will lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members, while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The Director will support field activity, including high-priority physician meetings, and ensure effective follow-up and communication strategies are maintained across the team.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 10+ years of experience in healthcare, physician relations, or healthcare sales/marketing
• Experience leading and managing a physician relations or healthcare sales team
• Strong consultative selling and account management experience
• Proven leadership experience including coaching, hiring, and performance management
• Experience working with referral data, claims data, or sales analytics
• Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans
• Strong stakeholder management across physicians, service line leaders, and executives
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• Experience with Physician Relations Management (PRM) systems
• Experience leading CME events or clinical education initiatives
• Background collaborating with marketing/PR on physician promotion strategies
