Job Description
Insight Global is hiring an Application Engineer for a Medical Device Manufacturing customer in Odessa, FL. This group designs and manufactures mechanical configuration solutions for medical mobility — modular, hybrid, and custom carts and workstations — used in hospitals and healthcare facilities worldwide. The Sr. Application Engineer is the technical bridge between our sales organization, customers, and engineering team for the mechanical configuration product line. This role owns the technical solutioning of customer requirements, from initial application review through release of new products into our ERP and engineering change systems, and serves as a senior technical resource and mentor for the applications engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead technical application review of customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to define optimal standard, modular, hybrid, and custom mechanical configuration solutions, accounting for product, regulatory, documentation, and regional labeling requirements.
• Own the engineering change notice (ECN) process for new and modified products — creating part numbers and drawings, building bills of material in the ERP system, and preparing complete ECN packages for release.
• Serve as the senior technical point of contact for field sales, account managers, and customer service, providing product expertise, application guidance, and troubleshooting support.
• Develop and deliver product training and on-site customer demonstrations and presentations, supporting pre- and post-sales technical activities, including evaluations and specification reviews.
• Prepare pricing and cost calculations for standard and custom configurations in coordination with Finance, ensuring appropriate margin and cost considerations.
• Lead project management of customized solutions, coordinating with internal teams and customers to maintain clear timelines from design through delivery.
• Gather and synthesize customer and competitive market intelligence, communicating relevant trends and requirements to internal stakeholders, including Product Management and Marketing.
• Mentor junior applications engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of application engineering processes, tools, and documentation standards.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
1+ years of experience in applications engineering, sales engineering, or product engineering, ideally within medical device, healthcare equipment, or capital equipment manufacturing (Automotive, Aerospace, or similar highly regulated industries will work)
Proficient in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software modifying Designs
Experience configuring or specifying mechanical/structural products to meet customer-specific requirements.
