Job Description
In this role, the Epic Orders Analyst will partner closely with clinicians and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective system build within Epic Orders. On a daily basis, they will build, maintain, and optimize order workflows, including order sets, panels, preference lists, and clinical decision support tools, ensuring alignment with clinical best practices and patient safety standards. The analyst will troubleshoot production issues, respond to tickets, and provide timely resolution to support end users across the health system.
They will actively participate in testing efforts, including unit testing, integrated testing, and user acceptance testing, and will support go-live activities as well as ongoing optimization initiatives. The role also involves working within established governance and change management processes to document build, manage enhancements, and support system upgrades or releases.
Additionally, the analyst will collaborate cross-functionally with other Epic application teams, interface/integration teams, and IT partners to ensure seamless functionality across systems, while maintaining thorough documentation of workflows, build decisions, and system changes.

Required Skills & Experience
• Epic Orders Certification
• 3+ years of Epic build/support experience
• Hands-on build experience (Order sets, preference lists, order panels, protocols, and workflows)
• Experience supporting clinical workflows
• End-to-end lifecycle support
• Strong troubleshooting and support skills - Resolving production issues and working within ticketing systems
• Experience with:
o Order Transmittal and interfacing
o Clinical Decision Support (alerts, BPAs)
o SmartSets / SmartTools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Multiple Epic certifications (e.g., Clinical Decision Support, ASAP, OpTime, Beacon)
• Familiarity with change management processes
o Including documentation, governance, and release cycles
• Exposure to integration engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Rhapsody)
• Experience in a large health system environment
• Knowledge of regulatory/compliance considerations (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)
