Job Description
Process bi-weekly payroll in a multi-state environment
Perform payroll adjustments and tax corrections
Maintain and update tax tables in Workday
Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers
Provide customer service to internal employees (employees are the “customer”)
Coach and guide managers through:
Payroll terminology
Workday navigation
Payroll FAQs
Execute cyclical reporting related to payroll
Support special payroll-related projects as needed
Perform routine, repetitive tasks within a small team environment

Required Skills & Experience
Payroll Certifications
Minimum: FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification)
Strongly Preferred: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
Multi-State Payroll Expertise
Experience processing payroll across all 50 states
Strong understanding of tax compliance and regulations
Familiarity navigating state/local tax nuances
Payroll Systems Experience
Hands-on experience with Workday payroll
Updating tax tables
Processing tax adjustments
Payroll Compliance & Tax Knowledge
Deep experience in payroll compliance
Ability to research tax issues independently
Uses tools like:
Bloomberg Tax
Local/state tax guides
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with TopLoc (or similar tax/configuration vendors)
Exposure to payroll system clean-up or remediation projects
Background supporting post-implementation payroll stabilization
Bachelor’s degree (if no CPP) in Accounting/Finance
