Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Developer/Architect in Medellin, Colombia. This role provides technical leadership across complex, multi service systems, owning architecture decisions and defining scalable patterns, APIs, and system boundaries. On a day to day basis, the engineer works closely with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business workflows into effective system designs, navigate technical trade offs, and drive long term engineering direction. They structure ambiguous initiatives into clear execution plans, converting designs into well defined Jira stories with acceptance criteria to enable teams to deliver with minimal ambiguity. The role includes building prototypes and proofs of concept to validate approaches and de risk architectural decisions, while remaining hands on by contributing high quality code in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python. This individual sets standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability, and supports debugging and performance optimization efforts as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of professional experience as a fullstack software engineer
• Background as a lead or staff engineer
• Strong proficiency in Javascript and Typescript
• Extensive experience building frontend applications with React
• Well-versed in building backend services and APIs with Node.js
• Backend development experience using Python, including API development and/or data processing workflows
• Experienced in the design of distributed systems and APIs
• Great communication skills and well-versed in a client-facing or consulting environment
• Self- motivated and strong problem solving skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in system modernization or platform transformations
• Background with AWS
• Knowledgeable in event-driven systems, GraphQL, or microservices
• Mentorship experience
