Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the mechanical design, development, qualification, and sustainment of aerospace air data system components. This role will work closely with systems, aeronautical/aerospace, and manufacturing engineers throughout the full product lifecycle—from concept and development through testing, certification, and long-term support. The ideal candidate will lead mechanical design efforts, create detailed 3D and 2D models, support testing and qualification activities, and provide hands-on engineering support for both new and legacy products.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering
5-8 years of engineering experience supporting aerospace new product development
Experience leading mechanical design, fabrication, evaluation, and testing of aerospace components
Proficiency creating and maintaining 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks (Catea, Creo (+))
Experience performing or supporting Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
This person will be at a desk -will move around the floor to support production and manufacturing – fixturing issues, tooling and process improvement
Someone who shows initiative (getting out on the floor)
Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Experience conducting technical design reviews and FMEAs to identify design risks
Familiarity designing to DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
Experience supporting manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, testing, fixtures, and tooling
Strong technical writing and communication skills, including documentation, procedures, and specifications
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with MATLAB, ANSYS, or other modeling/simulation tools
Experience designing FAA-certified aerospace products
Knowledge of SAE Aerospace Standards such as AS8006 and AS5562
