Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing client. This individual will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering efforts across the full product lifecycle—from concept and design through production and delivery. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
6+ years of mechanical engineering design experience
3+ years of direct people management experience (preferred but strong leads considered)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14 standards (Y14.5, Y14.100)
Experience with PDM/PLM systems
Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes (machining, sheet metal, welding)
Ability to manage multiple projects and engineering workloads
Strong communication skills with internal teams and external customers
Eligibility to obtain a security clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with military or defense programs
Knowledge of MIL-STD-100G or equivalent standards
Fixed-wing or rotary-wing airframe, structural, or hydraulic systems experience
Manufacturing background in aerospace or defense environments
Prior military or aviation maintenance experience
Experience with FEA tools
Exposure to 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies
