Job Description
This role is ideal for a survey professional who has completed (or is actively pursuing) licensure and is looking to continue developing technical expertise, project exposure, and leadership skills under the guidance of licensed surveyors. Key Responsibilities (In‑Office Role)
- Support office-based survey production including boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction layout surveys
- Assist with preparation of survey plats, exhibits, legal descriptions, and mapping deliverables under licensed surveyor oversight
- Process and analyze survey data collected from field crews using GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to support schedules and project milestones
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with state, local, and client standards
- Maintain project documentation and records
- Work under licensed surveyors to continue progression toward PSM licensure and participate in ongoing training

Required Skills & Experience
- Active Licensed Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification or ability to obtain LSIT in Florida.
- 2–6+ years of experience in surveying and mapping (field and/or office).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D exposure preferred).
- Familiarity with common survey types such as boundary, topographic, construction layout, and right-of-way surveys.
- Experience using survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Nice to Have (PSM-Level / Advanced Experience)
These are not required for the LSIT role but are strong differentiators for future growth:
- Active Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM/PLS) license in the State of Florida.
- 10+ years of progressive surveying experience.
- Extensive experience supporting or leading FDOT projects.
Advanced experience with:
- ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
- Roadway and pipeline design surveys
- Construction staking and layout
- Reading and interpreting right-of-way maps and construction plans
- Preparation of subdivision and condominium plats
- Writing and reviewing legal descriptions
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and survey data processing software.
- Experience with project management, proposal support, or client-facing responsibilities.
- Prior exposure to business development or account management efforts.
- Experience mentoring junior survey staff or field crews.
