Role Overview:
Our client in the West Palm Beach area is seeking a Traffic Permit Reviewer to support and manage the City’s Right‑of‑Way (ROW) permitting program. This role is responsible for reviewing construction and maintenance plans, processing right‑of‑way permits, coordinating with contractors and developers, and ensuring work performed in the public right‑of‑way complies with City standards.
This position plays a critical role in keeping construction activities moving safely and efficiently while protecting public infrastructure and traffic flow.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Review and process right‑of‑way permit applications related to construction, staging, material storage, and miscellaneous work within City ROW
• Review and approve Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans; prepare MOT plans when needed
• Ensure construction plans and drawings comply with City standards, codes, and specifications
• Serve as a point of contact for contractors, developers, consultants, and the public regarding ROW permitting requirements
• Participate in project design meetings and review engineering plans and specifications
• Conduct on‑site inspections to verify compliance and identify non‑conformance issues
• Coordinate with City departments, contractors, and outside agencies to resolve ROW‑related issues
• Maintain permitting records, documentation, and data systems
Recommend improvements or revisions to construction plans and permitting processes
Ideal PR: $28-32/hr depending on background and experience

Required Skills & Experience
• Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field
OR High School diploma / GED with additional relevant experience
• 3+ years of experience in engineering plan review, construction, or development
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, and technical specifications
• Advanced MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) certification in Florida, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
• Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain a Florida license shortly after hire)
Strong communication skills and customer‑service mindset when working with the public and contractors
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Prior experience working in a municipal or public‑sector environment
• Experience with right‑of‑way permitting, inspections, or construction compliance
• Familiarity with City standards, surveying, and mapping
Experience coordinating with contractors and consultants in active construction environments
