Network Security Engineer

Role Overview
The Network Security Engineer designs, implements, and operates secure network connectivity across on‑premises, cloud, and remote environments.

The role emphasizes Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Private Access, and SASE architectures in complex enterprise environments spanning data centers, cloud platforms, SaaS services, and distributed workforces.

Day‑to‑Day
• Own and manage enterprise network security services, including SASE, Private Access, and Zero Trust access models
• Operate and support network security technologies such as firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, NAC, and related platforms
• Secure and maintain cloud networking infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and SaaS environments
• Monitor network and security systems for threat activity, anomalies, and performance degradation
• Develop and maintain network security documentation, including diagrams, metrics, policies, and procedures
• Support security incidents, audits, testing, and third‑party assessments
• Stay current on network security threats, trends, and best practices
Participate in the IT Security Engineering on‑call rotation

• 5+ years of experience in network operations and/or network security
• Hands‑on experience with Zero Trust Network Access and Private Access architectures
• Strong understanding of:
○ Network packet structure
○ Secure transport protocols
○ Network telemetry, flow analysis, and anomaly detection
• Experience securing enterprise and cloud networking environments
• Proficiency with enterprise network security tools (firewalls, VPN, IDS/SIEM, NAC, SASE)
• Experience with SSE, microsegmentation, and NDR tools (e.g., Netskope, Akamai Guardicore, ExtraHop).
• Experience with cloud‑native and Zero Trust architectures
Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell

• Security or cloud certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, AWS/Azure)
