Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer (PE) for a top civil engineering and infrastructure services client. This individual will serve as a technical and project leadership resource, overseeing roadway and transportation projects throughout South Florida. The role offers the opportunity to lead impactful infrastructure initiatives, collaborate closely with municipalities and private developers, and mentor engineering teams in a growing, relationship-driven organization known for technical excellence and long-term career growth.
Lead and manage roadway engineering projects from concept through construction
Oversee in-house engineering staff and external subconsultants
Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, and regulatory agencies
Prepare and review roadway and drainage plans, technical reports, and permit packages
Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and local agency requirements
Support project scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
Contribute to technical excellence and team development within the firm
Salary range: $140,000-$170,000 + bonus

Required Skills & Experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida
Minimum 6+ years (ideal 10+ years) of progressive roadway engineering experience
Strong working knowledge of:
FDOT standards
Florida Green Book
AASHTO guidelines
Proven experience with FDOT and local municipalities
Demonstrated project leadership experience managing technical staff and subconsultants
Hands-on experience preparing roadway and drainage design plans, permits, and construction documents
Experience working with:
Miami-Dade County
Broward County
Palm Beach County
Proficiency with OpenRoads and 3D modeling tools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Traffic signal design experience
Strong local South Florida municipal relationships
Background working directly with private developers
Experience mentoring junior engineers
Familiarity with utility coordination and complex permitting environments
