Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant- AR Process Improvement with strong audit and forensic accounting experience to support a high volume, complex revenue environment within a CPG organization. This role will focus on deep dive analysis of revenue deductions, accruals, and account reconciliations, helping identify why transactions are not posting correctly and how processes can be improved.
The AR function is supported by an offshore BPO partner, and this role will play a key part in reviewing processed transactions, identifying errors, and reducing the time senior finance leaders spend diagnosing issues.

What You’ll Do
• Perform forensic, document level analysis of AR transactions that have already been processed
• Investigate revenue deductions and incentive programs, including volume rebates, short pays, and credit submissions
• Review and validate accruals related to incentive programs, identifying why balances are not behaving as expected
• Analyze ERP (JDE) postings, including category/custom codes, to ensure transactions are hitting the correct GL accounts
• Identify root causes when incorrect codes are used and explain the downstream impact on revenue and accruals
• Perform complex account reconciliations, identifying what “doesn’t make sense” and why
• Audit high volume transaction activity to assess accuracy, consistency, and processing quality
• Partner with the Accounting Manager, Revenue Manager, and Regional Controller to walk through findings and validate conclusions
• Clearly articulate issues: what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what could be done differently
• Provide recommendations for process improvements where appropriate
• Help reduce time spent by senior leaders troubleshooting revenue and accrual issues

This role pays between $55-75 per hour
