This job requires you to support external and internal applicants as they follow the process to be hired at PBSO.
Documentation, computer skills and customer service skills all required.
The purpose of this classification is to perform routine to moderately complex work providing administrative support in one or more areas of Human Resources. Functional areas include, but are not necessarily limited to: Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Recruitment, Selection, Employment Services, EEO/ADA/AAP, HRIS and Compensation/Classification. Duties may vary based on area of assignment. Independent judgment is exercised within established policies and procedures. Work is reviewed for compliance through observation and written reports.
PR: $20-21/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
Serves the public and fellow employees with professionalism, integrity, respect, and fairness in full accord with the letter and spirit of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Guiding Principles.
Processes administrative forms and a variety of documentation associated with human resources activities, such as employment applications, personnel transactions, personnel files, conditional employment offers, eligibility lists, performance appraisals, employee personal information changes, subpoenas, check-out forms, and/or public records requests; reviews forms for the purpose of verifying for completion, qualifications and/or eligibility; ensures compliance with established laws, regulations, and/or agency policies and procedures; processes within designated timeframes; distributes documentation or retains as appropriate.
Performs data entry into various Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) which include applicant information and status updates, test/interview scores, new hires, merit increases, employee transfers, reclassifications, promotions, address changes, employee personal information updates, and/or leaves of absence including family medical leave; verifies, updates, corrects, and maintains information.
Participates in human resources activities such as creating, updating, maintaining and storing personnel/applicant files, new employee orientation, test administration, processing subpoenas, recruitment activities, intake of applicant documents, scheduling of medical examinations, drug screenings, and psychological evaluations, and/or screening of applications using approved criteria.
Exercises tact and discretion in dealing with confidential matters such as employee medical information, psychological assessments, and/or applicant background files.
