About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Construction Testing Engineer to join our team and support both residential and commercial projects. This individual will conduct on‑site water testing, building envelope evaluations, and contribute to expert witness litigation support. You will perform field investigations, document findings, prepare technical reports, and collaborate closely with internal teams and clients.
The ideal candidate has solid construction site experience, is comfortable interacting with various stakeholders, and is eager to learn specialized testing methods—including becoming blower door certified (company paid).
Key Responsibilities
Daily & Field Responsibilities
• Review the daily schedule and plan field activities based on assigned appointments (calendaring handled by internal staff).
• Prepare and load testing equipment for each site visit.
• Conduct on-site water testing and building envelope evaluations following established procedures.
• Collect data, photos, and notes during site inspections.
• Communicate with contractors, builders, and site personnel to understand construction systems and site conditions.
Technical & Administrative Responsibilities
• Obtain Blower Door Certification (company-sponsored).
• Prepare thorough, professional written reports summarizing testing procedures, observations, findings, and recommendations.
• Use AutoCAD to review drawings, mark‑ups, or assist in drafting details.
• Read, interpret, and analyze construction plans and blueprints.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite for report writing (Word), data organization (Excel), and communication (Outlook).
• Support litigation and expert witness testimony preparation as needed.
• Utilize company internal systems and software platforms for project documentation and scheduling.
Travel & Logistics
• Travel to local job sites using either:
○ Company vehicle, or
○ Personal vehicle (hourly pay + mileage reimbursement)
• Occasional regional or air travel for specific site visits.
• Utilize a company credit card for approved business expenses.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in the construction industry (e.g., foreman, roofing, cladding, waterproofing, framing, or similar hands-on roles).
- AutoCAD proficiency (required).
- Strong understanding of construction environments, building systems, and how components tie together (blueprints).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication skills, both in the field and in written reporting.
