Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed plans, sections, and plan views for civil/site development projects.
Perform grading, volumes, and geometry layout work in Civil 3D (or general AutoCAD).
Revise drawings based on markups, ensuring all details are proportional, accurately dimensioned, and consistent with standards.
Coordinate with the GIS team to ensure proper data integration between GIS and AutoCAD environments.
Support projects such as ES, MGMS, and translation of architectural drawings into correct coordinate systems.
Generate and maintain location maps, reference files, and coordinate systems—understanding how to import, reference, and convert them appropriately.
Assist multiple project managers with timelines, communication, and delivering clean, accurate drawings.
Work on a range of project sizes—from 1–3 projects per day to long-term, year-long deliverables.


Tools & Technical Skills

Civil 3D (preferred), or general AutoCAD experience with willingness to learn Civil 3D.
Basic understanding of civil geometry, grading concepts, and 2D drafting fundamentals.
Familiarity with coordinate systems, file referencing, and converting architectural plans into civil formats.
Comfort with performing or learning:

Plan views
Volume calculations
Grading
Title blocks
Drawing standards

Work Environment

This role sits in-house beside our engineering team for hands-on support and incremental learning.
You will have direct mentorship from the CAD Manager and opportunities for continuous skill growth.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience working with AutoCAD for civil or land development projects
- Strong communications skills, willingness to learn, and proactive problem-solving
