Job Description

The Director of Infrastructure and Operations oversees the delivery and management of all IT infrastructure and operations that support the University’s academic and business functions. This role leads the transformation of I&O, including its strategy, services, and workforce, while aligning these efforts with the University’s broader IT strategy. As a senior IT leader, the Director ensures that I&O contributes to the overall success of the University by driving operational excellence and maximizing value through effective resource utilization, people management, and strategic planning

Required Skills & Experience

Skills/Experience Needed:
10+ years in an IT role
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred)
Strong Networking/Server experience
5+ years in a supervisory/management role – ability to develop and communicate an infrastructure and operations vision tat inspires and motivates staff and aligns with University strategy
Deep understanding of current and emerging IT architecture and infrastructure technologies and practices
Experience with planning the expansion and maintenance of a computing infrastructure
Proficiency in cloud technologies
Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Experience developing infrastructure as code automation
Experience in IT capacity planning
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement long-term strategies for IT infrastructure and operations to support the strategic alignment, long-term planning, and management oversight of infrastructure and operations department.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the university’s IT infrastructure, including networks, communications, servers, storage, and data centers.
Ensure the efficient operation of IT services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of IT services.
Develops, reviews, and updates the Infrastructure roadmap and technology refresh plan annually, while executing continuous improvement strategies to improve IT resilience, including reliability, tolerability
Directs the development of an I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship and negotiates contracts to ensure service level agreements are met.
