Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join their growing team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The Preconstruction Manager oversees the entire preconstruction phase of projects, ensuring accuracy in cost estimation, coordination of trade partners, and alignment with project goals. This role involves managing a team, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring a seamless transition from preconstruction to construction.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operations and trade partner coordination.
• Manage all aspects of project communication, deliverables, options, and estimates.
• Coordinate with design teams to guide project vision and ensure goals are met.
• Lead estimate development and delegate tasks during project kick-off meetings.
• Oversee bid processes, trade partner coordination, and project timelines for multiple projects.
• Manage all project scopes, including technical and high-risk scopes.
• Collaborate with team members for project execution.
• Communicate with clients to understand goals, provide updates, and offer value engineering options.
• Maintain strong relationships with trade partners for pricing feedback and project information.
• Develop high-level cost models and review trade partner proposals.
• Implement project vision and ensure objectives are met through planning and resource allocation.
• Lead estimate-specific kick-off meetings and incorporate contract requirements into pricing.
• Assign operations responsibilities for each estimate deliverable.
• Support development of General Conditions estimates and site logistics.
• Analyze and estimate conceptual cost options for early design guidance.
• Develop scope options to address budget constraints while maintaining program integrity.
• Represent the company professionally in meetings and presentations.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies during preconstruction.
• Identify constructability concerns and collaborate to resolve issues.
• Monitor market trends, material costs, and labor rates to address cost escalations.
• Identify long lead items and develop schedule strategies.
• Lead development and management of preconstruction and design schedules.
• Review quantity takeoffs and detailed breakdowns/unit costs.
• Produce professional deliverables (estimates, Basis of Estimate, presentations).
• Review project deliverables ahead of submission.
• Ensure seamless handoff to operations.
• Conduct training courses for preconstruction workshops.

Compensation: $135k. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in preconstruction or related roles.
• Experience with Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) vs. hard bidding
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Building Connected, Construct Connect).
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
