Job Description

MDVIP, the nation’s leading personalized healthcare company, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its Legal Department as Associate General Counsel. In this role, you will provide legal advice and strategic guidance on a broad range of healthcare regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters to support the company’s operations and growth. As a key member of the Legal Department, the Associate General Counsel will advise on healthcare regulations, contracts, compliance, employment law, and corporate governance, partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, compliance, and human resources to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include advising on regulations such as HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare/Medicaid, and third-party payor requirements; addressing AI and cybersecurity issues in healthcare through risk assessments, compliance strategies, and incident response; and providing guidance on commercial insurance matters, including credentialing, appeals, and contracting.
The role also involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor and healthcare partner agreements, supporting corporate transactions including M&A, collaborating cross-functionally to identify and resolve risks, monitoring changes in healthcare law, and assisting with internal investigations, audits, and regulatory inquiries.

Required Skills & Experience

Open to a candidate currently at a law firm with 5-7+ years of experience with Medical or Insurance background
JD from an accredited law school
Passed the bar in any US State but IDEALLY FLORIDA
Experienced practicing healthcare law at a law firm
Demonstrated expertise in HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare, and third-party
payor/health plan issues
