POSITION DETAILS
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily product support; manage key programs; technical authority in metal processes; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.
Day to Day
• Based on requirements from customer orders, plan sequences of operations for fabrication and assembly of products.
• Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines.
• Specifies, design and/or procures special tooling or equipment required to attain product per customer requirement within budgeted cost and time.
• Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently product desired product.
• Analyse and resole fabrication and tooling issues to avoid problems.
• Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings used CAD methodology.
• Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.
• Takes initiative to solve complex engineering problems and coordinate with other functional areas as needed.
• Produce comprehensive and complete engineering technical documentation.
• Demonstrate effective communication (teleconference, email, and in-person) through interaction with customers (internal and external) regarding technical subject matter.
• Comply with all company policies/procedures.
• Comply with all military and contractual requirements

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) from an accredited university.
• At least 5 years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred in a high precision manufacturing environment with high mix/low volume product rates.
• Strong communicator with solid judgment
• Analytical, strategic, and solutions-focused
• Collaborative team player with leadership ability
• Detail-oriented with a passion for data and process improvement
• Extensive machining background with close tolerance precision products
• CAD/CAM experience (NX, SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Metal processing expertise (Heat Treating, Surface Finishing, Forging, Casting)
• Proficiency in software tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, SolidWorks, CATIA
• Process improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and workflows
