Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a SolidWorks Designer to support a new Air Force contract in Shalimar, FL. You will be responsible for using SolidWorks to convert CAD models into production-ready drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards in accordance with ASME Y14.5. You will also develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) that comply with MIL-STD-31000B, ensuring all documentation supports manufacturing, inspection, and lifecycle requirements. Collaboration with engineers, program management and occasionally DoD stakeholders is essential to ensure design accuracy and compliance. Additional responsibilities include managing engineering documentation, supporting configuration control, and participating in design reviews and technical meetings. An active Secret Clearance is required due to the sensitive nature of the work. This position will require you to be on-site in one of the following locations: Shalimar, FL; Albuquerque, NM; Huntsville, AL.

Required Skills & Experience
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and drafting within aerospace and defense
• Proficiency in SolidWorks drawings
○ Strong experience converting CAD models to SolidWorks drawings
• Experience with 3D TDPs (Tech Data Packages), including intelligent PDF formats and neutral file types.
• Familiarity with DoD documentation standards
• Active Secret Security Clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, including CDRLs and MIPRs
• Prior work on classified programs or missile components
• Ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to process improvement initiatives
