Job Description
The Construction Inspector’s primary role is to oversee and track the outside plant construction progress and quality of infrastructure installation for a Danella underground construction project in the City of Seminole, Pinellas County Florida. Work being performed by subcontractors includes directional boring to install conduit, handhole installation fiber pulling and splicing to connect (2) Duke Energy substations with fiber optic cable. The inspector would act as an authorized representative of Danella, monitoring all subcontractor activity to ensure placement per the construction drawings, verify daily installation quantities, and complete all redline as-built drawings for the project. Responsibilities will also include collecting gps of installed facilities and collection of all bore logs from the bore contractor. It is vital to monitor contractors in order to verify that production quantities installations, and restorations are in accordance with required construction standards and specifications. As Danella’s primary field representative of the project, daily construction related issues will need to be addressed by the inspector and escalated when needed. Production totals, schedule monitoring and progress reporting will be the responsibility of this resource.

Required Skills & Experience
• Serves as the Danella authorized representative in the field
• Measures and approves installation quantities for construction contractor invoicing
• Completes daily and weekly production reports
• Monitors and inspects installation practices according to local installation requirements and specifications
• Oversees that construction as-builts are completed accurately
• Resolves daily design and construction related issues with the subcontractor and makes field level decisions
• Communicates directly with Danella Construction Manager and provides daily updates
• Addresses any contractor worksite or installation practice discrepancies to promote the best interest of the client and safety of the general public
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• 2+ years of fiber optic outside plant construction experience
• Proficient in MS Office Applications and Google Earth mapping tools
• Professional demeanor reflecting company core values
• Ability to be on the jobsite with the contractor at all times
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use own vehicle
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability it use iPad
