Job Description

You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the company's compliance with all DOT and Safety requirements. This position will support DOT, Pre-Employment Background, Drug & Alcohol, Internal/External Audits. This role will collaborate with Legal, Operations, Safety, Security, Labor, and Field HR to ensure compliance and coordination of compliance programs. This role will drive efficiency in current compliance programs while automating and innovating where possible.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading and overseeing various compliance initiatives within the organization, with focus on DOT regulations
This individual will manage and support DOT-focused programs and projects, including overseeing Freshdesk administration, Drug and Alcohol testing, Safety Compliance, and supporting Field Operations
The role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to align projects and communications with DOT standards
Ensure daily support for company, maintaining adherence to DOT regulations
Lead or support DOT programs and projects, ensuring seamless execution
Supports the Team understanding and driving the organizations human resource compliance strategy particularly as it relates to current and future federal, state, and local DOT compliance requirements
Administer quarterly DOT random and monthly DOT follow-up testing. This includes generating CDL employee pool and submitting to Sterling for selections, generating orders for follow-up testing, reviewing e-passports and ensuring that corrective action from testing is completed
Identify and inform management of DOT compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits
Ensure all documentation is properly submitted/received. Audit files for missing or expired documents (Medical Cards/Physicals, CDL, Annual Driving Records)
Oversee the pre-employment background process for all positions, leading compliance with all regulations for DOT and other governing agencies
Conduct regular Post-Accident and Reasonable suspicion drug screening, review metrics and tracking including Last Chance Program
Ensure Drug & Alcohol Testing compliance awareness, adherence and policy positions of the companys business models internally, within industry associations, and to other relevant external policy partners
Develop, interpret, and communicate updates on DOT regulations to relevant partners
Assist in the development and presentation of educational programs, including written materials on key DOT compliance topics.
Participate in audits and reporting to government agencies
(position pay will vary based on location & experience - ranging on average anywhere from $38-51/hr)

Required Skills & Experience

4-5+ years of HR & DOT Compliance experience
Experience with fleet of drivers (company has a large fleet of 2,000-5,000+ delivery drivers)
Experience supporting a DOT Compliance Program for a company before
Supporting DOT Training Material/Training Program
Relationship Management
Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance/regulations
Auditing Files (Ex: Reviewing Delivery Driver qualification files)
Very familiar with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and DOT requirements
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)
HR Compliance & DOT Compliance (DOT/FMCSA Compliance) experience
Ability to conduct DOT Audits and Mock Audits
Experience handling Driver Qualification Files / Being able list what goes into these files
Understanding Return to Duty Policy for Drivers
DOT Random Drug testing and screening experience
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
