My client in the ocean transportation industry is looking for an HR Specialist in Employee Relations to join their team of 5 in the Medley, FL office. This individual will be responsible for promoting a fair, respectful, and legally compliant workplace by managing employee concerns and supporting positive working relationships across the organization. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding workplace conflicts, performance management, and policy interpretation. Key responsibilities include following up on any employee matters that were brought up (attendance, behavior, quality etc.), compiling information, meeting with employees/supervisors, addressing issues accordingly, documenting situations accordingly, etc. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. Lastly, the workforce is a mix of English and Spanish speakers so it is important that this individual is comfortable communication in both languages.

- 2+ years of experience In an HR role focusing on Employee Relations
- Working knowledge of employment laws, guidelines and other applicable local, state and federal laws
- Proficient skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Bilingual in English and Spanish: speaking, reading and writing
- Bachelor's Degree in HR Management in relevant field
- Current SHRM Certification (PHR, SPHR, or GPHR)
- Proficiency with HRIS systems
- Experience dealing with workplace investigations in response to allegations of discrimination
- Prior experience using BI reporting
