Job Description

The Senior Systems Engineer will join our MIS Engineering team in Orlando, FL, to support software solutions for our Management Information System (MIS) team, which focuses on Warfighter Training and Readiness Solutions (WTRS). The MIS is a web-based system that aids users in data analysis for program decision-making and contract life cycle activities.

The Senior Systems Engineer supports the development life cycle, from concept development to requirements definition, functional analysis, design review, system implementation, integration, verification, and validation. They will work within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT), where strong communication and team-building skills are essential. Responsibilities include breaking down customer specifications and system-level requirements into system requirements, generating verification criteria, and planning for these requirements. The role also involves technical planning, trade studies, technical analysis, system integration, verification, and validation.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the development life cycle: concept development, requirements definition, functional analysis, design review, system implementation, integration, verification, and validation.
Work within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) with strong communication and team-building skills.
Break down customer specifications into system requirements and create verification plans.
Assist with technical planning, trade studies, technical analysis, system integration, verification, and validation.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 5 years of experience in System Engineering or a related field.
Experience in developing, integrating, and testing management information systems or similar web-based systems.
Skilled in requirements development, software integration, and verification.
Proficient in test execution, including creating test plans and procedures.
Experience in conducting Trade Studies and analyzing technical data.
Ability to apply technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts to solve problems.
Understanding of the System and Software Engineering Lifecycle.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Agile or DevOps environments.
Project management experience, including handling costs, schedules, suppliers, risks, and opportunities.
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools, and languages.
Proficient in using IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG) and Rational Quality Manager (RQM) for managing and verifying requirements.
Experience with databases, data integration, and data analysis.
Skilled in configuration management for DoD systems.
Experience in supply chain forecasting.
Experience working with government customers like the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.
Knowledge of the DoD development process.
