Job Description

Insight Global seeks an Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Project Manager in Tampa to support a large Engineering Firm. The role requires knowledge of the Florida Ecosystem, experience with permitting across various agencies, and the ability to lead a team of junior staff.

Responsibilities:
- Provide project management and technical support for ecology and environmental permitting projects and proposals.
- Propose, plan, execute, and manage projects with multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate effectively with clients in the Southeast.
- Prepare proposals (scoping and pricing).
- Manage environmental projects across mining, energy, and other sectors.

Project Manager Scope: The Project Manager will be responsible for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, proposing, kickoffs, managing through execution, delivering, and closing out projects, including financial management for a for-profit company. The role involves overseeing project management, timeframes, and consulting, with a focus on creating scope and preventing scope creep.

Team Size and Project Involvement: The team size will depend on the candidate, ideally directly overseeing 6-7 individuals but could be 2-3. The role involves heavy involvement in proposal preparation and managing 3-10 projects of varying sizes, some of which may involve fieldwork.

Field and Office Responsibilities: The Project Manager will spend 80% of their time in the office and 20% in the field, with a company vehicle provided for fieldwork. Exposure to various environmental management districts, technical writing, permit package development, and collaboration with engineers and other disciplines is expected.

Specialized Expertise: Experience in site plan designs, stormwater and erosion sedimentation plans, and working on budgets will be essential.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Biology, Ecological Science, Environmental Policy, Geology, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Minimum 6 years of related experience, including 3-4 years of project-related experience.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with Floridas threatened and endangered species, ecosystems, and vegetation.
- Excellent teamwork and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations and permits under various environmental agencies in Florida.
- Proficient in technical writing and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
- Experience managing and delivering proposals and reports.
