Insight Global is hiring 26 HCC Medical coders (100% REMOTE) to support a backlog for inpatient and outpatient needs. Must obtain an active Coding certification (CPC) through AAPC or AHIMA.
The Coder performs medical chart audits for evaluation, management, and documentation. This role also interfaces and disseminates audit results to clinicians and management.
The intent is to hire a handful of coders permanently - not all 26 will convert, but there is the opportunity to convert after 90 days. Most will be needed for the 12 month contract duration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations through the use of current CPT-4, HCPCS II, and ICD-10 materials, the Federal Register, and other pertinent materials.
Conducts physician chart audits to identify incorrect coding, prepares reports of findings and any compliance issues.
Reports coding patterns identified within the audit process to the Manager and identifies corrective measures to compliance problems.
