Business Intelligence QA/Test Engineer

Position Overview:

Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the product meets business requirements and overall

business objectives by identifying tracking and reporting quality assurance metrics such as defects defect

counts test results and test status as well as documenting problems and communicating the issue to

development staff to assist with the resolution. Key areas of testing are visualization and cross tab reports

including data validations against database and dashboard/report features.

Responsibilities:

Develop test strategy test cases and test scripts

Participate in user story refinements and sprint planning

Write acceptance criteria and executing tests accordingly

Identify test data requirements and work with other teams as needed to create and maintain test

data

Execute testing document test results and own defects tracking

Write complex SQL queries to validate Metrics/KPIs/Calculations from reporting layer against

database

Assist in defect troubleshooting and resolution

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of software testing tools as needed

Create run and maintain reports to measure and track testing metrics

Participate in testing automation including script development and maintenance

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelors Degree in computer science information systems business administration or other

industry related curriculum or combination of education and equivalent experience

5 to 7 years of experience in testing data BI and reporting applications

5 to 7 years of experience in reporting/data visualization tools such as Tableau and Business Objects

5 to 7 years of experience in SQL with ability to write complex SQL READ scripts in relational

databases irrespective of cloud or on-prem

5 to 7 years of working in agile team is must

Knowledge of key database concepts data models relationships between distinct types of data

Experience in writing acceptance criteria test scripts and UAT process

Experience running and documenting outcomes of test scripts

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Agile certifications such as SAFe preferred
