Job Description
Insight Global is hiring a REMOTE Director of Materials, S&OP for one of the largest suppliers in the promotional products industry! This person will oversee the implementation and improvement of (S&OP) Sales Inventory and Operations Planning to improve customer satisfaction, profitability, plant and supply chain optimization, inventory turnover, and working capital.
This is a new position for the company, as they are going through re-structuring of their supply chain. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience on what a successful S&OP looks like, and have also created a S&OP from scratch and seen it through to mature process through out their career. This person should have proven success on building out S&OP to a mature process, was heavily using forecast variance software to present data findings and how they used this to implement and/or build a successful S&OP.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee all aspects of the supply chain management process, including but not limited to procurement, warehousing, distribution, and logistics
Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs while maintaining high levels of quality control and customer satisfaction
Lead a team of supply chain professionals and support staff, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed
Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions
Monitor market trends and developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Manage inventory levels, ensuring that finished goods are available to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock
Prepare reports and presentations for upper management, providing updates on supply chain performance and initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years experience in GLOBAL Supply Chain Management
Supply chain experience in CONSUMER PRODUCTS Industry
5+ years S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) experience; Must have experience with both developing from scratch, and implementing/improving S&OP Plans through mature process
Must have forecast software experience; ability to tell story on how they used data sets/forecast variance to lead team to success on S&OP. Present the end to end numbers; ability to talk through struggles, etc.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
Excellent analytical skills, strong matrix, management demonstrating leadership and able to communicate among all levels of workforce
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
APICS Certification
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
Proficient with GAINS forecast Systems
