Job Description
Systems Engineer must have a clear understanding of systems functionality and/or departmental processes as they relate to the supported system/application(s). Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills are required for interpreting and distributing documentation related to systems/application functionality, upgrades and enhancements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering systems limitations. May be responsible for assisting with projects. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member in a solution-oriented, customer-focused environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Basic understanding/experience relative to PC's
- 2+ yrs' applicable experience minimum -- essential server admin skillset
- Strong Windows Server management experience
- Working knowledge of IT processes
- Experience in an enterprise level environment - Large number of users, complex systems, federated partnerships with other orgs, multiple IT teams with separate duties, etc.
- A specialization in one or more of these areas..
o **Managing virtual environment/VMWare/VSphere (app/desktop/server)
o **Enterprise storage
o **Load Balancing (NetScaler is product used here but any experience in that space)
o Managing Exchange
o Managing EDI
o SME on backup/data retention
o Citrix exp
o Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Associate's or higher in applicable field (Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, etc.)
- 1+ yrs' exp with Windows Server administration, Backup solutions, Microsoft System Center, VMWare Virtualization, Microsoft Domain Services
- 1+ yrs' exp with PowerShell, Python or other devops style scripting language
- Related technical certs
