Job Description

Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Systems Operations Manager to support a hospital system in Washington, DC. This role will oversee server infrastructure, M365, and Azure strategy while driving modernization in a heavily legacy, manual environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role with strategic oversight, managing a small team while fixing core issues across Active Directory, patching, monitoring, and automation. This person will be expected to push modernization, challenge outdated processes, and think outside the box to help transform the environment.

This role was created to establish dedicated leadership over Systems Operations as HUH continues major infrastructure modernization initiatives, including Microsoft 365 migration, Azure adoption, backup modernization, and a future data center transition.

Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day systems operations (servers, M365, infrastructure)
• Manage team of admins + contractors (infra, exchange, security)
• Drive automation (reduce manual processes) via scripting
• Improve patch management, monitoring, and operational processes
• Lead Active Directory administration, optimization, and modernization efforts (OUs, groups, structure)
• Improve user onboarding + provisioning workflows
• Support Azure/cloud strategy + hybrid environment buildout
• Oversee core infrastructure:
○ VMware + Nutanix (virtualization)
○ Veeam (backup/DR)
○ Citrix (remote access)
• Partner with security to address widespread vulnerabilities
• Help standardize SSO + identity (bonus: Imprivata)

Must-Haves
• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• 10+ years of systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or systems operations experience
• 3+ years managing infrastructure / systems operations teams
• Healthcare IT experience (required)
• Strong Microsoft ecosystem experience (M365, Active Directory, Azure)
• Server infrastructure expertise (VMware, Windows Server, Veeam backups)
• ITIL framework knowledge and operational process management
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring technical teams
