Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Maintenance Tech (Operating Engineer) for a leading commercial real estate and facilities management client. This individual will support daily operations within a Class A office environment, working closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain high standards for high-profile tenants, including law firms and government clients. The role is heavily hands-on, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, and responding to service requests in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in building systems (HVAC, plumbing, general maintenance), is customer-service oriented, and thrives in a polished, tenant-facing environment. Respond to and complete work orders and maintenance tickets
Assist Chief Engineer (James) with daily building operations
Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs across building systems:
HVAC (filters, drain pans, condensate pumps)
Plumbing and drains
Doors, ceilings, finishes, and appliances
Monitor and operate building systems via BMS (temp control, lighting schedules)
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections
Handle tenant requests in a highly professional environment
Maintain and support fire/life safety systems
Assist with equipment installation and modifications
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards
Document completed work and findings in ticketing systems

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of maintenance / operating engineer experience
Hands-on experience using basic hand tools (tools provided)
Experience responding to work orders and service tickets
Basic knowledge of:
HVAC systems (air handling units, not split/SCU systems)
Plumbing and mechanical troubleshooting
Building repairs (doors, floors, ceilings, etc.)
Ability to work in a professional, tenant-facing environment (law firm & government clients)
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) basics
Strong customer service and communication skills
Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and work order systems
Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in a Class A office building environment
Exposure to JCI (Johnson Controls) systems
Experience maintaining fire/life safety systems
Light carpentry or finishing skills (painting, drywall, etc.)
Preventative maintenance program experience
