Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Engineer (Network and Security Operations) assists in supporting network services and solutions for the global business. Below is a list of responsibilities for the role. This list is not exhaustive and may include other duties as assigned or needed:
• Assist in the daily operational tasks related to the company's Network and Security services and systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Help ensure 24/7/365 operational service availability and business continuity by aiding in monitoring and first-level troubleshooting.
• Work alongside Engineers, Senior Engineers and Managers to understand and contribute to strategic roadmaps; learn how these align with broader business, functional, and departmental objectives.
• Assist senior technical leaders in carrying out operational tasks and contribute to team objectives under supervision.
• Collaborate with other team members and network architects to support the design, installation, upgrades, and patching of the company’s network and security environment.
• Provide technical support in BAU (Business As Usual) projects, design and implementation activities under supervision, and interact with third-party vendors as directed.
• Aid in enforcing the firm’s IT security policies and procedures through monitoring and reporting.
• Support the Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity (DR/BC) plan by participating in tests and validation activities under senior guidance.
• Help in maintaining and reviewing technical documentation, network diagrams, and processes and procedures.
• May be required to work outside of regular business hours under supervision to assist in tasks that could impact the company’s operations and may be part of the 'out of hours' support rota under senior guidance. Travel to the firm's international offices and data centres for specific tasks may also be required under supervision.
• Keep abreast of relevant technologies and contribute ideas for their potential use within the organisation under guidance from senior staff.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with change control processes and following ITIL best practices, using the firm’s ServiceNow system as an introductory tool for tracking and documentation.
Targeting $50-$80 an hour.

Required Skills & Experience
The Network Engineer assists in the day-to-day operation and reliability of the organisation’s network infrastructure to ensure consistent performance and availability for users. Reporting to senior staff, the Network Engineer is responsible for aiding in the management and support of LAN, WAN, and VoIP systems across the organisation. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
The candidate should have experience or a fundamental understanding of one or more of the following areas:
• Cisco
o Catalyst switching
o Nexus switching
o Voice and Collaboration systems
• Meraki
o Switching and Routing
o Wi-Fi
• WAN/LAN
o Routing protocols, e.g. BGP, EIGRP
o Excellent understanding of communication protocols, TCP/IP, and L2/L3 networking.
o QoS
• Aruba
o Wi-Fi
o Clearpass (Network Access Control)
• Palo Alto
o Firewall
o SD-WAN
o Prisma
• SolarWinds Network Monitoring
• ITIL Service Management
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in networking, security, or related field, ideally in an IT Operations department. Experience in a professional services environment is a plus but not required.
• Basic familiarity or hands-on experience with networking systems is preferred, including exposure to Cisco IOS, network security, Meraki, Aruba, Palo Alto, or WAN/LAN routing protocols.
• Initial experience in managing or supporting networking systems, such as Cisco and Meraki networks, and voice and video systems, is advantageous.
