Job Description
Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Network Manager to lead and support hospital network operations while remaining highly hands‑on with Layer 1–3 infrastructure. This role is ideal for a senior network engineer ready to step into management, or a current team lead looking for a clear path into infrastructure leadership.
The Network Manager will oversee a small team of strong but developing engineers, acting as both technical authority and mentor, particularly as the organization moves through network upgrades and refresh initiatives that will be new territory for the team. This is a great stepping‑stone role for a Level 3 engineer or NOC team lead ready to move into management.
Responsibilities:
• Provide Level 3 network support across: Layer 1 (physical connectivity), Layer 2 (switching), and Layer 3 (routing)
• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex network issues
• Be actively hands‑on with configuration, troubleshooting, and network changes
• Support, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco network infrastructure
• Lead and support network upgrades and refreshes
• Ensure high availability and performance of hospital network services
• Partner with infrastructure, systems, and application teams to resolve cross‑domain issues
• Directly manage and mentor 3 network team members
• Guide engineers through unfamiliar territory (upgrades, refreshes, modernization)
• Provide patience, coaching, and knowledge‑sharing to mature team capabilities
• Help establish better practices, documentation, and operational consistency
• Participate in escalation only when needed after junior and senior resources
• Support 24/7 hospital operations with readiness to engage during critical incidents

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
• Bachelor's in IT or related field
• 6+ years of progressive experience in network engineering or operations, with at least 1–3 years in a senior or team‑lead capacity
• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 series (non‑negotiable)
• Deep knowledge of Layer 1, 2, and 3 networking
• Strong troubleshooting background in enterprise networks
• Ability to act as both people manager and technical authority
Comfortable mentoring and guiding engineers through new initiatives
