Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Management Representative to support the National Park Service (NPS) at the White House and President’s Park. The Construction Management Representative will provide cradle-to-grave project management assistance, construction oversight, technical analysis, and stakeholder coordination on complex, high-visibility projects involving multi-year phasing, jurisdictional challenges, and sensitive historical and environmental constraints. The Engineer will oversee, manage, and inspect the work of various contractors for progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents. This role requires strong technical, communication, and conflict resolution skills and the ability to support the NPS Project Manager and Contracting Officer through all phases of project delivery.
Assist the NPS Project Manager in cradle-to-grave project management and administration.
Oversee and inspect the work of design and construction contractors.
Actively manage, monitor, and report on project progress, quality, and conformance.
Coordinate closely with Project Manager and stakeholders to resolve issues and delays.
Draft formal correspondence and project documentation for Government review.
Assess constructability and logistical feasibility of proposed designs and plans.
Track and review submittals, schedules, Division 01 compliance, and contractor payments.
Coordinate contract modifications, RPPs, and cost estimates.
Respond to RFIs and resolve disputes through coordination and clear communication.
Monitor overall contract performance and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in and document project meetings and weekly stakeholder calls.
Conduct field inspections and generate daily diaries, deficiency lists, and punch lists.
Ensure completion of close-out documentation including O&M manuals and warranties.
