Position: Business Development Representative - Outpatient Services

Shift: Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm
• Hybrid position - they will split time between PIW, their home, and travel across the DMV.
• With flexibility for networking events and conferences; no regular on‑call or holiday coverage.
Interview Process:
• 1st round: 30 minute Zoom interview with the CEO and Director of Business Development & Government
• 2nd round: On-Site interview: conversational, meet the team, and tour of facility with a panel of leaders

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Insight Global is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to support the Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW), a 130-bed, short-term, acute care hospital providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. PIW offers inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs, including specialized treatment for chemical dependency.

The Business Development Representative (BDR) drives referral growth for PIW’s outpatient services (PHP/IOP), building and nurturing provider relationships across the DMV. This role positions PIW as the hospital of choice for behavioral health referrals, funnels appropriate patients to outpatient programs, and collaborates tightly with PIW leadership and clinical teams to align outreach with program needs.

Responsibilities Include:
• Market Development & Outreach
Build and expand a high‑quality referral network across hospitals, medical practices, behavioral health groups (psych/psychiatry), school systems (adolescent unit), social service agencies, and acute‑care institutions. Tailor messaging to business operations managers, providers, and practice leaders to convert relationships into active referrals.
• Account Management & CRM
Maintain accurate, timely activity in CRM (Salesforce or similar): track touches, meetings, lead status, and outcomes; provide weekly reporting on contact, referral, and admission activities; manage travel plans and related expense reporting.
• Collaboration & Internal Alignment
Partner closely with the Business Development Director and Outpatient Director to plan outreach, host onsite events/tours, and ensure follow‑up on leads from the Day Center; co‑lead/attend weekly marketing–outpatient syncs; align messaging with program capabilities and access criteria.
• Community Presence
Represent PIW at professional networking events, conferences, and community forums to increase visibility and strengthen PIW’s brand in behavioral health across the DMV.
• Referral Funnel Management
Identify, qualify, and nurture leads to drive outpatient intakes; monitor funnel metrics (source, conversion, time‑to‑admission), troubleshoot obstacles, and share insights to improve access and throughput.

Required Skills & Experience

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–3 years in business development, marketing, outreach, or sales; within a healthcare setting.
• Clear, effective communication (in‑person, verbal, and written); strong interpersonal and persuasion skills.
• Demonstrated organization and collaboration; sales/BD mindset with the ability to influence without authority.
• Proficiency with computers/CRM to maintain databases and daily activity logs.
• Flexibility to work occasional evening hours for events; willingness to travel across the DMV.
○ Transportation and other related expenses will be reimbursed.

Preferred:
• Direct experience in behavioral health, mental health, psychiatric, and/or substance‑use settings.
• Established provider network in the region with a track record of converting leads into referrals/patients.
• Familiarity with PHP/IOP program models and criteria.

Other Notes:
• Reports directly into the Director of Business Development & Government.
• Team: 2 other Business Development Representatives.
• Collaborates closely with the CEO, and the Director of Outpatient Services.
