Job Description

We are seeking an Events Coordinator based in Washington, DC who will take ownership of event logistic planning for a large and complex university event being held on October 22. This is a contract position that runs through the end of November and is 40 hours per week + some weekend and evening hours.

The position is responsible for:

Oversight of all aspects of the planning and execution of this event, ensuring all logistical details are managed, including, but not limited to, space reservations (layouts), facility, catering, transportation, A/V, and all other event-related logistics.
Assisting with managing relationships with campus partners who help execute event, including (but not limited to), parking, facilities, catering, housing, dining, security, special events, custodial, electrical, grounds, sustainability, recycling, and audio-visual.
Management of receipts for budgeting purposes.
Projecting and anticipating needs for day-of event execution and ensuring all colleagues and team members have the materials they require to successfully execute event.
Serving as the manager-on-call for the event
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

High School Diploma or graduation equivalent
3 years related experience
Be flexible, and an active problem solver, both in event logistics and event-related staffing issues.
Be a team player who is excited to work within a marketing, communications, and events team to create and manage successful events.
Some weekend and evening hours are required.
