Job Description

* Our client, a Maritime systems and maintenance engineering company, is looking to bring on a Mechanical Marine Engineer to their team. This position is a hybrid role with 4 days days onsite based at the USCG HQ in Washington, DC. This individual will perform design review and assessment for the USCG boat fleet. Primary responsibilities are listed below:

o Review shipbuilder drawings to support planned production AND Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for technical acceptance

o Work with an engineering support team ensuring quality control standards of deliverables for clients

o Have knowledge of ISO/ABYC standards and regulations; 3D modeling software and ASME Y14 standards and circuits/electronics

o Be able to conduct engineering design research and advise clients on technical issues or deficiencies affecting ship production, operations and maintenance

o Have the ability to document technical deficiencies in the form of issue papers

o Be able to review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) submittals from the shipbuilder for specification adherence

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering

* Secret clearance

* 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience

o Preferred experience in hydraulics, propulsion, marine engineering

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Prior experience supporting USCG or Navy

* Prior experience in ship or boat engineering
