Job Description
The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Nurse Manager provides 24/7 leadership support to the CICU nurses. The CICU cares for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. The CICU works closely with the Cardiac Operating Room, Cardiac Catherization Laboratory and the Cardiac Stepdown. This leader is a mentor and advocate for excellent patient care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Childrens Hospital. Leadership includes strategic planning, ensuring evidence-based care delivered and benchmarked quality patient service and outcomes.
Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30-5 (not on call but still 24x7 accountable. Supervisors will be on shift off hours)

Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Masters in Nursing or related field preferred.
-Five years clinical experience required, preferably at least one year in pediatrics.
-Knowledge of professional nursing theory & practice; knowledge of management theory and change process.
-Previous management experience required.
-Active registered nurse licensure for Delaware
