Job Description

A global manufacturing client is seeking a Data Engineer to help design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions that support both the SAP implementation and future enterprise analytics initiatives. This role will be instrumental in replatforming data assets, building modern data pipelines, and expanding the organization's data engineering capabilities over the next several months.
Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks.
- Support the organization's SAP S/4HANA implementation by integrating and transforming source system data for analytics and reporting purposes.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements across key business entities and processes.
- Migrate and replatform data from legacy Oracle data warehouse and Cognos environments into a modern Databricks-based architecture.
- Build and optimize data ingestion processes leveraging Azure services and cloud-native technologies.
- Implement and maintain data quality controls utilizing Databricks and data quality frameworks.
- Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams supporting Power BI solutions.
- Ensure proper version control, deployment practices, and change management using Git/GitHub.
- Troubleshoot data integration issues and optimize performance across large-scale datasets.
- Contribute to data architecture decisions and best practices as the organization continues to mature its modern data platform.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
- SQL and Python experience.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines within cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience utilizing Git/GitHub for source control and release management.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and modern data architecture.
- Experience working in Azure cloud environments and supporting data extraction and integration processes.
- Experience implementing data quality, governance, and validation frameworks.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA as a source system.
- Previous involvement in ERP migration or enterprise transformation projects.
