Job Description
The Facilities Manager is the single point of contact for all facilities management services at an industrial distribution site, partnering with the Area Manager, Regional leadership, and Corporate Real Estate to deliver consistent, contract-driven service. This role is responsible for overseeing non-production facility assets and ensuring all services are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope. The environment includes a challenging client-side plant manager, requiring the Facilities Manager with strong presence, confidence, and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally. Success is built through dependable, predictable execution, not changing expectations. Day to day, the role is focused on program and vendor management rather than hands-on work. Responsibilities include managing work orders, coordinating vendors, identifying inputs to facility plans, resolving operational issues, and overseeing budgets, invoicing, and reporting. The site is a distribution-focused operation with limited HVAC complexity and heavy reliance on fork trucks and material handling equipment. The Facilities Manager leads a stable, high-performing team of 4–5 direct reports, with an emphasis on coaching, guidance, and performance management. Additional responsibilities include supporting short- and long-term projects, contributing to annual facility planning, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery. Success is measured by reliable operations, strong vendor and team performance, and professional client engagement.
