Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Underwriting Assistant (Energy Casualty) for a top specialty insurance client. This individual will support a high-performing underwriting team focused on Energy Casualty business, assisting with the full policy lifecycle from submission intake through policy issuance. The ideal candidate will have experience working within commercial insurance environments and be comfortable handling complex risks related to energy operations, including oil & gas, energy contractors, renewable energy, and other specialty casualty exposures. This person will work directly with underwriters and broker partners, reviewing submissions, processing quotes and binders, issuing policies and endorsements, completing quality control reviews, and ensuring accurate policy documentation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build expertise within the specialty insurance and Energy Casualty marketplace.
Day to Day:
Partner closely with Energy Casualty Underwriters to support new and renewal business
Review account submissions and identify missing underwriting information
Communicate with brokers to obtain supplemental documentation and risk details
Prepare and process quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and notices
Complete policy coding and issuance activities
Enter and maintain policy information within underwriting systems
Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Generate broker correspondence and transaction-related communications
Support underwriting teams with administrative and operational responsibilities
Assist with energy account servicing, including contractor operations, oil & gas exposures, renewable energy projects, and complex casualty risks
Track policy transactions and help ensure service level commitments are met
Collaborate across underwriting, operations, and broker partners to support profitable business growth

Required Skills & Experience
3-5+ years of insurance industry experience
Underwriting Assistant, Underwriting Support, Policy Administration, or Insurance Operations background
Experience supporting Commercial E&C underwriting teams
Experience with policy issuance, endorsements, binders, renewals, and quotes
Strong data entry accuracy and quality control experience
Experience working directly with brokers and underwriters
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Energy Casualty insurance experience
Experience handling energy-related risks including upstream, midstream, downstream, oil & gas, energy contractors, renewable energy, or environmental exposures
Understanding of Energy Casualty coverages, risk assessment, and policy documentation
Familiarity with specialty insurance markets and complex commercial accounts
